What Makes TrenchJack Different

TrenchJack hydraulic shoring systems are designed for quick setup, consistent pressure, and secure wall stabilization. Made from high-strength aluminum, each system can be installed from the surface—keeping crews safe while meeting OSHA trench safety standards.

This model is the ideal balance between lightweight handling and robust trench support, making it perfect for utility maintenance, service connections, and municipal infrastructure work.

Features & Benefits

Key Features and Engineering Advantages

TrenchLock Safety System A patented optional feature that locks cylinders in place after pressurization. Once secured, the spreader maintains pressure and trench width, preventing hydraulic bleed-off during operation.

Big-Block Standoff Design Engineered with oversized standoff blocks that allow soil to pass freely reducing buildup, improving drainage, and preventing jamming under load.

Finger Guard System Protective guards on each spreader connection keep operators’ hands clear of pinch zones. TrenchJack is built to prioritize crew safety at every step.

Heavy-Duty Piston Rods with Triple Seals Precision-machined piston rods ensure smooth operation and long-lasting performance. The triple-seal design provides consistent pressure retention with minimal maintenance.

Lightweight Aluminum Construction Strong, rust-resistant, and easy to maneuver, TrenchJack components can be handled by small crews without heavy equipment, saving both time and labor.

TrenchLock™ Safety System

Patented locking keeps the piston rod secure, preventing accidental retraction under load.

Big-Block Standoff Design

Oversized spacing allows dirt to pass through, ensuring smooth, clog-free setups.

Built-In Finger Guard System

Enclosed connections reduce pinch points and protect hands during assembly.

Oversized Piston Rods with Triple Seals

Heavy-duty rods with triple-sealed fittings minimize leaks and extend service life.

Safety, Installation, & Operation Guidelines

Safe Use & Operational Best Practices

Safety Protocols:

  • Engage TrenchLock (if available) before crew entry.
  • Always check hydraulic integrity, inspect hoses and seals.
  • Use finger guards and keep hands clear of moving parts.
  • Utilize lifting lugs with certified rigging for safe system movement.

Installation & Operation Steps:

  1. Set up rails and cylinders from trench edges.
  2. Connect hydraulic hoses and gradually pressurize to working width.
  3. Lock system using TrenchLock or mechanical means.
  4. Perform alignment and safety inspections before personnel entry.
  5. On completion, release pressure in a controlled sequence and retract system.

Maintenance & Inspection:Regularly inspect piston seals, hoses, and structural components. Replace worn parts in line with manufacturer recommendations. Use approved replacement kits from Northeast Shoring for durability and compliance.
